Learn the exciting possibilities of knitting with multiple colors! You’ll make four small projects, one per week, while you cover all the basic techniques of striping, intarsia, fair-isle and modular knitting.

Introduction to Entrelac

4 workshop classes: $80

Entrelac (French for latticework) is the exquisite technique used to create a textured diamond pattern. While the end result resembles basket-woven strips of knitted fabric, the actual material comprises interconnected squares on two different orientations. Come in to see the shop models! Project choices are scarf or wrap.

Magic Loop Socks

3 workshop classes: $75

The perfect next step for a Beginning Knitting graduate! Socks are a small, compact project, which require several new skills to learn. An architectural phenomenon in knitting, we’ll show you the latest innovation of making socks without using double pointed needles! We will take the mystery out of the Magic Loop and teach you all you need to know to make socks. A great class for all levels of knitters and for those of you who plan to take Seamless Sweater! You will learn a lot!

2 Magic Loop Socks

Intimidated by lace work? Don’t be! We’ll show you the basics of lace patterning while you make a gorgeous throw. Even the most intricate patterns are based on these simple and beautiful techniques. You’ll be ready for anything afterwards.

Pattern Play or Pattern Play II Blankets

4 workshop classes: $80

Both of our Pattern Play blankets are designed specifically as teaching blankets in order to increase your skills in reading patterns, understanding repetitions, reading your work and more. At the same time, you will be enjoying how to manipulate your stitches into richly textured cables, twists, eyelets, astrakhan, and trellis patterns. Come in to see the samples! Pattern Play can also be done using DK weight yarn to make a baby blanket version!

Learn how to weave on a Rigid-Heddle Loom. If you love yarn this class is for you!

Do you have lots of partial balls of yarn from previous projects?  Would you like to make a scarf in an afternoon? We'll teach you how to direct warp your loom and get you weaving in no time!  One of the best things about weaving is how easy it is to create your own designs; let us show you how!

In week one, we will warp your loom and teach you different weaving patterns incorporating yarns from your stash.  In the second class, we'll show you how to take your project off the loom and how to finish it. We'll put a second warp on the loom so you leave with another piece ready to weave.  If we have time, we’ll talk about some more things you can do and show you some great books to inspire.

We love to share our passion of all things yarn, come play with us! Classes are held 2 weeks apart so you’ll have time to weave.  Make sure you can attend both classes. We DO NOT offer make-ups for missed classes.

Beginning Weaving: 2 classes: $375

Materials Included: Loom, Carrying Bag, & Fringer

Our most popular class ever...

Knitted in one piece from the top down.  Students will make their first sweater using bulky yarn.  It provides endless variety and timeless style in pullovers and cardigans.  There is, what some knitters consider, a heavy amount of homework each week.  Skill level is intermediate.  If students are unable to keep up with class, private lessons are available.  Please discuss required skills and supplies with us before signing up.  Materials must be purchased in advance as there is homework required before the first class! We strongly recommend Magic Loop Socks as an excellent entre to this class.

Spring/Summer 2017 Class Schedule

  1. 7-9pm, Wednesdays, May 3, 10, 17 and 24
  2. Can also be scheduled as a series of private lessons

 $50

Do you feel like if you make the simplest mistake you can’t move forward until coming into the shop for help? In this one hour private lesson you’ll learn to understand the construction of knitting, repair several common errors, drop down rows instead of ripping out and generally gain confidence with your knitting! Please call the shop to schedule your individual lesson with shop owner, Amanda!
